PROVISION OF INFORMATION AND SERVICES
One of the main aims of the Orpheus Trust is the provision and exchange of information between researchers, concert organizers, educators and the media.
Practical use of the database: the Orpheus Trust proposes programmes based on the ‚data base of compositions‘ and provides information on sources as well as biographical and artistic data for organizers, interpreters, schools and the media.
Archive: scores, sound recordings, biographical material, photographs as well as secondary literature is available to interested persons, in order to facilitate the approach to unknown artists ad their work, to promote performances, to provide programme notes and to help with press coverage.
Exchange of information and networking between exiled musicians and their families, resarch institutions, schools and the media.
550 organizers in the German speaking countries receive the list of musicians, containing the names of more than 300 conductors, soloists, choirs, orchestras and ensembles, that have pieces of exiled composers in their repertory and have had contact with the Orpheus Trust. This non-profit service aims at supporting musicians who perform these compositions so that they may become part of the standard concert repertory.
The Fritz Spielmann Fund, established by his cousins and the Cultural Department of the City of Vienna, provides small research grants for young musicians and musicologists.
