Lotte (Maria Charlotte) Bamberger-Hammerschlag
1904 /1902? Wien - 2005 New York Born 1904 in Vienna as Maria Charlotte Hammerschlag; 1919-25 violin studies at the Academy of Music and performing Arts Vienna. 1925-28 solo concerts in Vienna, 1936 viola player in various chamber music groups, a.o. the Busch Quartet; that same year emigration to Palestine as a member of the Palestine Orchestra in Tel Aviv (substitute 1st viola). In 1938 she followed her husband, the Viennese conductor Carl Bamberger, who had also been forced in exile, to New York. She later taught at the Mannes College of Music in New York chamber music and gave numerous concerts. Charlotte Bamberger-Hammerschlag passed away 2005 in New York return to the list of the musicians
